Partner

Tacstone Technology and PTWEE are joining forces in the field of test automation. This strategic alliance combines PTWEE’s expertise in software testing with the experience of Tacstone Technology as a Platinum Partner of software provider UiPath, which is currently investing heavily in the AI capabilities of its Test Cloud. Among others, SAP users stand to benefit from this collaboration.

Testing is becoming increasingly important for organisations. IT landscapes are constantly evolving, with updates, upgrades and functional changes. Before a client moves these changes into production, they need to be certain everything is working correctly. Clients want to go live with confidence – they want full control over quality.

The collaboration between Tacstone Technology and PTWEE originated at a shared client in the medical sector, who was facing this exact challenge. Test automation for SAP systems not only provided greater control over quality, but also led to cost savings and more efficient business processes. Building on the success of this project, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), confirming their mutual trust and commitment to this business partnership.

Eliminating bottlenecks

“Testing is a costly process for many companies, as it requires significant time from both internal and external staff,” says Ebert Knol, partner at Tacstone Technology. “At the same time, the pace of software releases and updates continues to accelerate. Increasingly, cloud applications release updates not just twice a year, but monthly or even weekly. With every release or update, it’s essential to ensure everything works properly. Testing plays a key role in that. It takes a lot of time — and because of its repetitive nature, there’s a real risk it’s done hastily or incompletely, with all the consequences that may bring.”

Test automation can help tackle these challenges. “After all, testing isn’t a goal in itself. It’s about minimising risk and identifying issues before they impact operations.” To meet this growing demand, Tacstone’s Kevin Westermann was named MVP in test automation this year. His expertise was built in part through a major SAP test automation project for Staatsolie.

Efficiency

Since 2008, PTWEE has specialised in testing and improving test processes within complex IT environments that use enterprise software solutions such as SAP. “Alongside a structured testing process and the people executing the tests, test automation is becoming an increasingly important element for our clients,” says Roel van Bremen, Commercial Director at PTWEE. “More and more organisations need to run large numbers of regression tests in the shortest possible time.”

“Test automation offers a clear solution, but many organisations aren’t immediately ready to take that step. That’s where PTWEE can help. Many companies prefer to (re)use tools they already have licences for. Investing in new, often expensive tools creates an additional barrier. And that’s exactly where the strength of our partnership with Tacstone Technology lies. UiPath is already widely used for Robotic Process Automation (RPA), but what many companies don’t know is that UiPath also offers powerful test automation capabilities — especially now that AI functionalities have been added.”

“This makes it much easier — and more logical — for companies to start using UiPath for test automation,” says Roel van Bremen.

“PTWEE and Tacstone Technology aim to inform clients about the testing capabilities UiPath has to offer. This joint approach enables organisations to test more intelligently and efficiently — without the need for additional investment in a new tool.”

Agentic AI

Jaap-Jan Wever, Regional Leader Benelux at UiPath, says: “Test automation has been part of our platform for quite some time. With the rise of agentic AI, we’ve undergone a major transformation in our testing capabilities. As of this week, our Test Cloud — the agentic AI version of test automation — is generally available. This marks an important strategic expansion for us.”

“In larger organisations, we often see that traditional testing methods can consume up to 30% of the IT budget. By using Test Cloud, we can cut those costs in half. With the same budget, this means you can allocate 15% of your IT resources to innovation. And that is exactly what organisations at board level are looking for: the ability to innovate quickly — but in a reliable and controlled way. Testing plays a key role in making that possible.”

Working Autonomously

At UiPath, Agentic AI means working with independently thinking agents. “These aren’t just simple AI features that provide support — they are agents capable of making decisions and taking actions on their own. What sets them apart is their ability to act proactively within the testing process, while still keeping humans in the loop. People remain part of the process — but only step in when their intervention is truly needed. Most other tasks are fully handled by these agents. Moreover, these agents can collaborate across multiple teams, working in a multidisciplinary and organisation-wide way.”

“We already offered features like Autopilot for Testers, which significantly boosted productivity. But with the introduction of Test Cloud — a dedicated environment for application testing — we’re taking the next step. The full Enterprise Automation Platform supports the reuse of test assets and resources, and allows testing capabilities to be extended across other parts of the organisation.”

Results

Commenting on the collaboration, Wever says: “Tacstone Technology has been a valued UiPath partner for quite some time. This year, they once again achieved the next level of partner status. They deliver strong results for their clients — and for ours as well. Their partnership with PTWEE, a specialist in testing, completes the picture. PTWEE brings in-depth testing expertise and hands-on experience, while Tacstone focuses on automation. With the launch of Test Cloud and the new opportunities it brings, this is a highly valuable combination.”

“Agentic testing is still relatively new, but it’s the real differentiator. The impact for clients is also tangible: according to analyses, including those confirmed by IDC, organisations can save an average of four million euros per year by using Test Cloud. The average payback period is between five and six months. And that’s not even including the non-financial benefits: fewer errors, higher quality, less rework, and greater confidence in the release process.”

Added value

“Test automation can save a significant amount of time — both for internal teams and when hiring external testers. It also reduces the risk of errors in business operations by enabling more frequent and consistent testing. On top of that, it accelerates the development cycle. A developer can build a feature during the day, which is then automatically tested overnight by a test robot. The next morning, the developer immediately sees the test results and can make adjustments right away.”

Ebert Knol | Partner at Tacstone Technology

Van Bremen concludes: “This collaboration offers an accessible way to get started and experience what test automation can mean for an organisation. Our advice is: start small, see what it delivers, and build from there. Once you see the added value, scaling up becomes easy.”
